It's bold enough (basically a reverse 4A) to be used in lower light since the windage only goes out to 5 mil and still provide functional elevation holds. I would absolutely buy one right now as the scope currently sits. The fact that it's a 4x erector also makes the math really handy. My wish list for the the final product would be:
  • 36 or 40mm objective
  • Side Focus
  • Exposed 1/10 mil elevation turret
  • Throw lever like the 3-15x
The only competition with a 1" tube is the Leupold Freedom AR and that's a pretty appealing option. Add SF, better magnification range, a much better reticle (TMR kind of does everything poorly), and even a little weight savings and you have a winner.

Are these scopes made in Japan as well?

If it had a large objective, side focus, exposed turrets and so forth, it wouldn’t interest me. It’s a light weight hunting scope and that’s exactly what I use it for. I wish they would build another along the same guidelines. Maybe a 1.5-6X20. Perfect for lever guns, AR carbines and so forth.

I’ve got one for sale for $300, BDC model, very lightly used. I couldn’t quite get it to fit the mounts on my Howa Miniaction
