Since my last topic was a bust (sorry I am apparently not good topics) i will try another topic. How about “winter/holidays.  So it can be anything to do with the Christmas, winter seasons. Can be family, outdoor scene’s, decorations, displays etc.

Alas, that was for December, which was a re-attempt to garner participation from November. Nobody submitted any photos either month. Unfortunately, there just doesn’t seem to be any interest in the photo contests anymore. I’m not talking about just lack of participation in submitting photos, but also a lack of interest in even voting in the contest polls. We couldn’t get more than 8-10 people to bother taking the 20 seconds necessary to click on a poll selection!

Skylar has apparently decided to leave OT, so since he and I were the only 2 members who consistently participated, I took over keeping the monthly contests running. It soon became evident that few people were even opening threads in the photography section. Participation dropped to nothing, and even more puzzling is most members wouldn’t even bother to vote. So, OT spoke and I listened; the photo contests are dead.

If recent trends are any indication, this seems to mirror the fate of the whole site. We added these additional sub-forums to try to encourage more participation on OT and entice new members with diverse interests to join. It appears that didn’t work. If nobody else cares, then I don’t either.

No matter, something had to be in here. I have been trying to upload from my phone with no luck for over two weeks.
So, someone pick a January topic. Mike?

I always vote Ted. I am usually on my phone and it just doesn't upload.

Sorry Doug, the photo contests are history. We have at least 40-50 people visiting the site daily, and if we can’t get more than 8-10 people voting in the polls each month, then that is a clear sign most members don’t care about it. I’m not going to bother with creating the polls and keeping the running record of monthly winners thread active if folks are unwilling to even vote on what few submissions we get.

Here's one I took in Little Italy earlier this month with my phone while out to dinner with family and friends.
