What's left of the mornin gents.

Great weather again here.

Just got my refrigerator put in my new office. Now if I can get my compooter moved in there, I'd be fine.
Still counting down the months.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

Hi folks,

Well, the work bench is coming along nicely.

Hopefully get more of the old furniture out of the garage soon

25mm ply and 3x2" mainly for the construction. Coated in plenty of polyeurethane to protect it

And now with legs, vice and covered in rubbish.

Morning folks,

Another day and in parts of the UK they are discussing lifting more lock-down restrictions so might be able to look at getting up to visit my folks.

Today is  the rock and roll plan of visiting Costco!

Morning all, looks like another cool, grey and rainy day here.

Sorry BP, I missed this, Thanks - I think...

First job has been getting a mechanically sound but rather unloved Browning Auto 5 back into commission. This is how dirty it is inside:

The locking screw for the tang screw was a total bear.

I tried soaking stuff in (Oil, WD40, Break fluid, break cleaner)
I tried impact
I tried heat
I tried cold
I tried shocking from one to the other.

 - I spent about 4 days of working and soaking on that damn thing.

So in the end it met my 5.2mm drill

And this was the result:

So the little metal disk is the head of the locking screw with 2 other locking screws for comparison.

And as you can see the threaded portion of locking screw is still in place so at least there isn't a hole into my receiver.

This is the tube the recoil spring with supposed to run in. It was stuck so the spring wouldn't compress - Not surprised the gun has cycling issues!

Wire wool, dowel WD40, 3in1 and some elbow grease means the spring now drops through.

Now I need to remove the bolt release button and magazine release and off to cerakoting.

Afternoon gents.

Scrummy, make sure to remove all traces of 3 in 1 oil. It attracts rust.
I do hope you get that old girl rebuilt and running.

Peace all.

You obviously need more "stuff"... there are some spaces there that are not completely covered...

Hello BF,

Yes, it has been thoroughly wiped down and has had break cleaner used as an expensive substitute for a pressure washer.

It is all nice and clean as going off for Cerakoting.

E110 Midnight I believe
